Why Measure?
The funders who have invested in your impact efforts may expect to be told about what their resources enabled you to accomplish. Your participants, partners, and audiences may justifiably want to know what THEIR investment led to as well. Funders that you might approach for future projects may be moved to invest if you can illustrate demonstrable success on previous projects.
But evaluation is about more than ensuring a return on investment; it is also a tool for you to use while your campaign is underway to determine what is working and what may not be and how you can you effectively allocate limited resources to achieve your goals.
